The program will provide grants of up to $5,000 to qualifying microenterprises.

Applicants must have applied for and have an application number from the US Small Business Adminstration’s COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan program. There are two categories: one for restaurants and other food service businesses, and one for micro-businesses with 1-10 employees. The program is capitalized with $1 million from Bank Newport and a matching $1 million from the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation’s Small Business Loan Fund.
